WATCHES WE LIKE

Originally, the Santos model was designed by Louis-François Cartier to offer the aeronauts of the early 1900s a practical chronograph that would allow the pilots of the time to check the time without having to let go of the controls of the aircraft. Up to that time, the use of pocket watches was common, which made it very difficult for them to check the time when they were in flight.

Faced with this difficulty, Cartier decided to design a solution: a watch that would be attached to the wrist to be read at a glance. Becoming the first male wristwatch and one of the most iconic pieces in the history of watchmaking.

During the following decades, numerous versions of this model were launched, until 2004, when the centenary of the first one was celebrated and Cartier launched Santos 100, which is still marketed today.

The Santos 100, presents among its improvements, the quick strap change, the redesign of its case that adapts better to the wrist, as well as the decrease of the case height and an innovative bezel.
